SSH Telnet
Find out more about the Telnet protocol and its use.
Secure Shell, also known as SSH, is a cryptographic network protocol employed to execute commands on a remote server or to exchange information between a website hosting server and a client. Since the info exchanged by the two sides is protected, a third party simply cannot intercept it, which makes SSH a preferred means of managing an Internet hosting account. The commands that can be executed depend on the type of hosting service. On a shared hosting server, for example, the possibilities are limited because you won't have root access to the server, so you can simply create/move/delete files, set up and unpack archives, import and export databases, etcetera. They are all actions which are carried out within the shared hosting account and do not need a higher level of access. Using a virtual or a dedicated server, you shall have the option to set up server-side software or to restart the machine or only a particular service (web server, database server, etc.). SSH commands are submitted via a command line, and if you do not use a UNIX-like OS, there are a number of applications for other OSs, you can employ to connect to the remote server as well.

SSH access could be enabled with a click from the Hepsia Control Panel if the
Linux web hosting package you have chosen includes this feature as standard. If not, you may add it from the Add Services/Upgrades section of your Control Panel and enable it right away. You'll find all the information which you need within the SSH section of the CP - the host, the port number and the username that you must use, along with in depth Help articles in which we have listed the commands which you can use in the account and examples of the syntax that you have to use. SSH Telnet in VPS Web Hosting
When you obtain a new
virtual private server from our company, it will offer full root access and you will be able to connect to the server and to handle everything via an SSH console. The function is provided by default with all package deals, so you will not need to allow or upgrade anything. Your hosting server shall be set up right after you get it and as soon as you receive the Welcome email with the login info, you can connect via the server’s main IP address and begin working. As the VPS is a software emulation of a dedicated server and is separated from the other accounts within the physical machine, there will be no restrictions regarding the commands that you can use. You will have full root access, so that you could set up and run any app which can work on a Linux hosting server, manage files, folders and databases or start/stop/reboot the whole machine or any software operating on it.
